Up Dharma Down sets at Terno Inferno are always good, heck, I can attest that they are even the best. But once you scoop that the band came from rehearsals, a few hours before their gig, then you just know that they’re cooking something special.
And here’s proof to that, a video of Sana and Sana Dalawa Ang Puso Ko (tribute to late singer, songwriter, and music producer Bodjie Dasig) which they performed last night.
I wasn’t able to watch this live because Terno Inferno was packed as usual and I failed at pushing myself inside. But at least I heard it (well Japo and I) from outside and our hearts were automatically all giddy. Thank you, Up Dharma Down! You guys, always a part of my life!
So yeah, enough of the blah blah! WATCH EEEET! It’s beautiful!

Happy 8th birthday, Up Dharma Down!
It’s amazing to know that the band who I have been following for 7 years turns 8 today. And it’s not all about being a fan since it’s also about friendship, taste, and trust.
I’ve met some of my best friends through this band. I have found and lost love through them, too. It’s just a wonderful feeling to know these people for so long and I definitely have no regrets in terms of anything.
The teenage takas-to-gigs, the sermons I got from my Mom for staying out late, all the money I’ve spent for gig entrances - they’re actually nothing compared to what I’ve earned which are good music, friendship, and happiness!
Two more years to a decade! Thank you and I love you, UDD!

Tonight at 19th East Sucat: Terno Night with The Sleepyheads, The Charmes and Up Dharma Down. Music starts at 9:30pm!
19th East is one of the best (or okay, maybe the best) venue when it comes to quality audio equipment. The place is pretty lovely, too! So I bet that your 200php gate entrance will be worth it. And oh, it’s overlooking Laguna De Bay which is really pretty and cold at night. <3

This song has such a huge impact on me musically and lyrically wise. For a moment, its lyrics were too appropriate for my then current situation that every line of the song would make me think so deep I thought I was gonna cry. Lol to myself, I know.
This song was with me too during strange-getting-to-know-times (Ayala MRT station with someone who was asking me to sing it for him HAHA) which makes it more memorable than ever.
Anyway, enough of the “me and my memories” part. Just watch the video (again, never mind the slightly crappy audio) and see how cute the band is as they bounce along the song! Enjoy! :)

It’s tonight! Hidden Nikki’s album launch for their debut ‘Found’ at 19th East Sucat with Encounters With A Yeti and Up Dharma Down.
Music starts at 9:30pm while 300php gets you in inclusive of their CD.

Cupcake Saturday
3/4 of Up Dharma Down celebrated their birthdays this month so in connivance with Carlos (UDD’s guitarist) and some good Terno friends (Hi Bel! Hi Kris! Hi Jason! Hi Chigo! Hi Jon!) we planned a birthday surprise for Armi, Ean, and Paul last Saturday at Terno Inferno in SaGuijo.
It was just really simple: We surprised the three with a box of cupcakes in the middle of their 3:30am set and sang along with the whole of saGuijo a warm and hearty happy birthday!

I burnt the side of my right thumb because I couldn’t light the candles. I was pressured too because everyone in the crowd was already singing and I was thinking “Light up you candles, dammit!”
Carlos and I planned to surprise them after their third song but I think he forgot his queue so I had to wait outside after their sixth one. Haha! But it’s okay, the celebrants’ faces were priceless!
So glad the plan worked out well! And the cupcakes? Nah, they were done in a few minutes during the rest and after UDD’s set! Thanks Mom and Tina’s, they were delicious!

Well, for Terno Inferno in general that night? It was a very fun one, as usual! The place was packed and that fuzzy lovely feeling was around me again.
And of course, a warm thank you to these people for making the night a thousand times more special!

Not putting things in general but it has been a great start for 2012.
Seeing your work in print is an awesome feeling. Guess I just scratched a number off my bucket list. Looking forward to more, though! :)
